John Aravosis has become the “Jack McFarland” of the liberal blogosphere: Shallow, campy, and outrageous.
Actually, I’m being overly generous; McFarland would recognize, three or four times a season, that his self-involvement and his selfishness hurt the people he claimed to care about, and would apologize for his behavior — even if half-assedly.
Aravosis, on the other hand, has chosen to adopt a George W. Bush style of insensitivity, declaring anyone who disagrees with him to be “The Enemy” and refusing to tolerate dissent.
Here’s the latest bit of self-serving drek to vomit forth from Aravosis to underscore the above point, courtesy of Truth’s blog:
Our Constitution is on life support and you freaks, a very vocal minority of the people who visit this site and comment, have spent over 24 hours worrying about two words in a title, and you’re still obsessed with it. None of us have the time to deal with your weekly fit of hysterics…
[T]he majority of our readers are normal people who are actuall worried about their country and want to make a difference. Please stop bothering them with your weekly crises.
I choose to spend my time fighting the enemy. You choose to spend your time fighting friends…
Gee, Aravosis sounds like any number of right extremists in the blogosphere. People who disagree with him are a “minority,” and therefore shouldn’t be paid any attention, they’re “freaks” who are “obsessed” and engaging in “hysterics,” they’re not “normal” people, and they don’t care about their country.
It sounds like something Michelle Malkin would write, doesn’t it? Aravosis’ rhetoric borders on the type of eliminationist drivel that you can find at LGF and RedState. Who knew Aravosis could behave like an unhinged Republican bigot?
You know, by John’s “logic,” since our “Our Constitution is on life support” perhaps those of us concerned with human rights for a small minority of people (a particular minority to which Mr. Aravosis and myself belong) should abandon that cause for a while to focus more attention on more pressing “Big Picture” isues?
After all, there are only so many hours in a day, and we can’t sustain multiple battles at once, can we? Homosexuals will just have to wait a while longer to obtain the legal rights they should already have, and Aravosis can throw shrill, attention-getting temper tantrums about Howard Dean all he wants, inbetween vicious hatchet-jobs on Cynthia McKinney.
Our Constitution is on life support, after all.
Of course, Aravosis seems to think that the way to revive it is to attack Democrats, women, and any left-winger who takes issue him. With friends like John Aravosis, who needs enemies?
