I was a little absent-minded yesterday when Googling the names at the Slusho! site.
“Yoshida,” the last name of the family whose work led to the creation of the Slusho! product, means “lucky/joyful rice field.” In essence, an abundant production (or producer?) of food.
“Satoshi” (listed as a contact at Slusho’s! “Feedback” page) means “ash or ashes” and is a unisex name, listed as both a popular girl’s name and popular boy’s name. A famous “Satoshi” is Satoshi Tajiri, known for his creation of the “Pokemon” series starrring “Ash Ketchum,” a young boy who captures and trains monsters.
“Kagashima,” the Slusho! Satoshi’s last name, is the name of a Japanese prefecture (also spelled “Kagoshima”), but I’ve been unable to find the meaning of the name, only the prefecture’s history.
Finally, something to keep an eye out for: The number 47 is featured “in nearly every episode of the TV show Alias,” and will more than likely figure into Cloverfield. Maybe Slusho! comes in 47 flavors?
