The Gossip Rag has the links to the MySpace pages of some of the “1-18-08″ characters. I also learned from TGR that you can turn some of the pictures at 1-18-08.com over (hold down your left mouse tab and shake your cursor over the picture); those that can be flipped have a message.
I find Evan Johnston’s “Buru Theory” highly improbable (if not total bullshit), but… wow. The dude claims that he “translate[d] the bubbles and blinks that the horse makes in the underwater page of slusho into morse code…” Morse. Fucking. Code.
The idea deserves some kind of props even if it’s a hoax, so I have to link to it. Also, it’s an interesting theory.
Here’s something you more than likely have read already, but what the hell:
While Abrams didn’t spill any details on the title of the movie (which he is only producing), he did explain its origins. He said that he was in Japan with his boy, and they went to several toy stores where they saw lots and lots of Godzilla toys. As this occurred, Abrams came to the realization that America needed its own monster.
He quickly added, “I love King Kong. He’s adorable.” But explained that he wanted to see an American monster movie that was “insane and intense.” A notion was born, and audiences will have the film on, well, 1-18-08.
