I keep seeing this phrase in the Establishment Media and from disillusioned pro-Obama bloggers, and I find it mind-boggling.
How exactly does a man like Barack Obama, a man who chastised Democrats for not kowtowing to Christian evangelicals, who allowed a right-wing, anti-gay, pro-Bush gospel singer play a role in his campaign, who fired a massive salvo at Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal with verbiage right out the Radical Reich’s playbook, who embraced the Bush Junta’s Social Security privatization scheme, who savaged Bill Clinton’s record of economic prosperity by comparing Clinton’s eight years to Dumbya’s, whose education policy echoes the Never-Right Wing’s, how — in the fucking WORLD — can such a man be considered the new kid on the Center-Right block?
