Rinehart (he of the bizarro comic book campaign material) lost Oklahoma’s GOP primary July 29th, so shortly after his term as County Commissioner for district 2 ends he’ll be facing trial:
A new trial date has been set for Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart’s trial on felony campaign finance charges.
Oklahoma County District Judge Ray Elliott on Tuesday set the trial for Rinehart, his former campaign manager and a donor for Feb. 9.
Rinehart had been scheduled for trial in September but the judge in the case disqualified himself.
The trial will now take place after Rinehart leaves office. He failed in a bid for re-election — losing in the Republican primary.
In a separate case Rinehart has been ordered to submit an affidavit by Monday showing a federal judge he’s complied with an Internal Revenue Service summons for his 2003 corporate tax records.
